Boyd came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with 19 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Callisburg Wildcats with a sharp 17-2 victory. Considering the Yellowjackets have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Taylor Budge made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Maddilynn Harrison was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Savannah Davis was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Boyd's record is now 25-2. As for Callisburg, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-22.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Boyd is set to challenge their familiar foe Paradise at 11:00 a.m. on the 18th. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Yellowjackets 1.5, the Panthers 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Callisburg will take on rival Valley View at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
