Football Recap: Dunbar Piles Up the Points Against Venus

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dunbar). They blew past the Venus Bulldogs 54-0 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Kamron Lloyd produced another solid performance rushing for 157 yards and four scores on only seven carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 15 rushing touchdowns on the season. Another player making a difference was Demetri Lawson, who threw for 198 yards and four TDs on only nine passes.

Dunbar's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4. As for Venus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Coming up, Dunbar will welcome Godley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunbar will be up against Godley's rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Venus, they will venture away from home to challenge Glen Rose at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.
