Baseball Recap: Goldthwaite's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Goldthwaite won the last time they faced Center Point and things went their way on Tuesday too. Goldthwaite was the clear victor by a 14-1 margin over Center Point. The matchup marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season.

Ben Wetzig looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caden Koho, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Hayes Greenway was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Goldthwaite always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goldthwaite will take on San Saba at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Center Point, they will face off against Mason at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mason's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Center Point's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
