Basketball Game Preview: Leo Lions vs. Crete-Monee Warriors

Having just played yesterday, the Leo Lions will jump right back in to play the Crete-Monee Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Crete-Monee took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Leo, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Leo beat Northridge 63-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Meanwhile, Crete-Monee unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 60-44 bruising from Rich Township. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Raptors are ranked 17th).

Leo is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Crete-Monee, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Everything came up roses for Leo against Crete-Monee in their previous meeting back in January of 2019, as the squad secured a 69-30 win. Will Leo repeat their success, or does Crete-Monee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
