Recap: Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars vs. Weequahic Indians
The Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars suffered their biggest loss since December 16, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 57-36 loss at the hands of Weequahic. Montclair Kimberley Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Weequahic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Leading Weequahic to victory were Hekeimu Williams and Tyhir Barlow. Williams dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Barlow scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barlow has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tasir Barnes, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Montclair Kimberley Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Weequahic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
Montclair Kimberley Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Eagle Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weequahic, they will head out on the road to face off against College Achieve at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. College Achieve presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Weequahic in New Jersey (College Achieve is ranked 94th, while Weequahic is ranked 341st).
