            Football Recap: Horizon Scorpions vs. Del Valle Conquistadores        
        
		
        
        
            Horizon had lost three straight on the road, but  on Friday they dropped down to 0-7 to make it four. They had to suffer through  a    52-22 loss at the hands of the Del Valle Conquistadores. The Scorpions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  42-6.
Horizon lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Mauricio Payan, who threw for 150 yards and two  touchdowns.
 Even if they lost, Horizon's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Roberto Valdez,  Adrian Partida,  and  Juan Lopez, who each picked up one  sack apiece.
As for Del Valle,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 7-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 30  points or more this season.
 Leading Del Valle to victory were  Jake Fette and  Dante Eytcheson.  Fette threw for 326 yards and four  TDs, while  Eytcheson gained 184 total yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance also gave  Eytcheson a new career-high in  rushing yards (146).  Ivan Lopez also helped out with an impressive 84  receiving yards.
 Looking ahead, Horizon will host El Paso  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Scorpions will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.29  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Del Valle, they will take on Andress at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Conquistadores will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31  points  in their last six contests.
