Volleyball Recap: 13 Straight Road Wins for Coronado

Coronado faced Liberty in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win. The Cougars have beaten the Patriots the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Patriots has come to flipping the script.

Coronado's got stronger as the match went on, holding Liberty to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.

DANE GALVIN paced Coronado's offense, picking up nine kills. GALVIN got some help from BRAXTON ROWLEY and his 17 assists.

Coronado's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 34-2. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-12 record this season.

Coronado has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Foothill on the 1st. After both having extra time off, Liberty and Durango will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trailblazers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
