Baseball Recap: Unioto Victorious

The Unioto Shermans earned a 5-1 victory over the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Shermans.

Logan Perdew spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Zickafoose, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Unioto: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

Unioto now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unioto will face off against Zane Trace at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they will square off against Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
