Two dominant signal callers in Carson Gulick and Holden Emerson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Whitefish Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Polson Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Whitefish is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-0 victory over Stevensville. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Montana football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 61st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gulick was his usual excellent self, rushing for 55 yards, while also throwing for 83 yards and a touchdown on only five passes.

Shaedon Perry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 87 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 50 yards.

Polson wouldn't let Stevensville keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Polson can thank Alex O'Neil and Jack Sherry for forcing both of them.

Whitefish now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Polson, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Friday's contest might be decided in the on the ground. Whitefish has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 157.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Polson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 216.3. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Whitefish couldn't quite finish off Polson in their previous matchup back in October of 2023 and fell 29-26. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Emerson, who rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 198 yards on nine of 21 attempts.
