Basketball Recap: Dell Rapids Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Dell Rapids waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans with a sharp 56-32 win. The Quarriers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dell Rapids to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tad Tjaden, who went 9 of 15 en route to 20 points and three steals. Tjaden has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Kloth, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and six blocks.

Dell Rapids has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dell Rapids will challenge Vermillion at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Vermillion has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, they will square off against Winner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Winner's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
