Softball Recap: Mattoon Comes Up Short

The Mattoon Greenwave came up short against the Jersey Panthers on Wednesday and fell 8-4.

Mattoon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alana Perez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Alyssa Whitley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Mattoon has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Jersey, their record now sits at 18-10.

As of now, neither Mattoon nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
