Basketball Recap: El Dorado Aztecs vs. Americas Trail Blazers
El Dorado lost against Americas back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The El Dorado Aztecs received a blow as they fell 55-40 to the Americas Trail Blazers. The Aztecs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jacob Villalobos and Eli Velasquez certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Villalobos posted 14 points, while Velasquez earned 15 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Americas to victory, but perhaps none more so than CHRISTIAN BACA, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points and five steals. BACA is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JOSH PICHARDO, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points and four steals.
El Dorado now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Americas, they pushed their record up to 15-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Bel Air the next time they take the court. El Dorado will host Bel Air at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Americas will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
