Soccer Recap: Coahulla Creek Takes a Loss

Coahulla Creek fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors by a score of 3-2. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Natalie Brito and Breana Munguia scored both of Coahulla Creek's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Coahulla Creek moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three matches. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Coahulla Creek will welcome North Cobb Christian at 5:00 p.m. on March 13th. Coahulla Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they will head out to face off against Sonoraville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
