Basketball Recap: Shining Star Sports Academy Panthers vs. The Carmel School Wildcats
It was a proper cat-fight when Shining Star Sports Academy faced off against The Carmel School on Tuesday. The Shining Star Sports Academy Panthers fell 80-67 to The Carmel School Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (66), the Panthers still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Carmel School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nicolo Passalacqua, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 23 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Passalacqua a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Edoardo Marra, who went 8 of 12 en route to 21 points.
Shining Star Sports Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-9. As for The Carmel School, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
