Softball Recap: Western Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Moapa Valley, Western was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Democracy Prep Agassi Campus Blue Knights 18-17. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Western got a massive performance out of Olysia Ortiz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Natalie Tapia, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Ortiz wasn't the only one making solid contact: Western kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Western's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
