Basketball Game Preview: Ridgevue Warhawks vs. Meridian Warriors

The Ridgevue Warhawks will head out to face off against the Meridian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ridgevue is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.3 points per game this season.

Ridgevue is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Kuna, who was ranked seventh at the time (Ridgevue was ranked 11th). Ridgevue fell 56-47 to Kuna on Tuesday. The contest marked the Warhawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Loss or not, Ridgevue got some senior leadership from Javonte Boles and Tucker Tiddens. Boles posted 16 points, while Tiddens had 14 points. Another player making a difference was Luke Kurtin, who earned nine points.

Meanwhile, Meridian entered their match against Owyhee on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Meridian lost to Owyhee at home by a 74-59 margin.

Meridian's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. As for Ridgevue, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Ridgevue took a serious blow against Meridian when the teams last played back in November of 2017, falling 76-46. Can Ridgevue avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
