Football Recap: Shasta Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Shasta extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-5. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Enterprise Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 26-20 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Shasta saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Deven Ortega rushed for 162 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Ortega's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

As for Enterprise, their record is now 3-4. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the game before.

Enterprise was led to victory by Koby Johnson and Izaiah Mikell. Johnson gained 315 total yards and four touchdowns, while Mikell rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Johnson is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 115 every time he's taken the field this season.

Shasta has already played their next contest, a 50-7 loss against Chico on the 24th. As for Enterprise, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-12 defeat against Red Bluff on the 24th.
