Preview: Prairiland Patriots vs. Cooper Bulldogs
The Prairiland Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Cooper Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Saturday, Prairiland was the victim of a tough 62-41 loss at the hands of Commerce. While losing is never fun, Prairiland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 733rd, while Commerce is ranked 147th).
Meanwhile, Cooper strolled past Pleasant Grove with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 43-29.
Cooper can attribute much of their success to Marilynn Wilkerson, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds, and Bayleigh George, who scored 9 points along with 8 steals. Halle Toon was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 3 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Prairiland and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Cooper, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Prairiland suffered a grim 62-39 defeat to Cooper in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Prairiland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
