Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Greene Thunderbirds vs. White River Valley Wolverines

The Eastern Greene Thunderbirds will take on the White River Valley Wolverines in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eastern Greene took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Bloomfield by a score of 44-37.

Meanwhile, White River Valley hadn't done well against Bloomfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. White River Valley claimed a resounding 57-14 win over Bloomfield. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 26 points or more this season.

White River Valley pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Eastern Greene, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.

Eastern Greene didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against White River Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory.
