Basketball Game Preview: Coyle Bluejackets vs. Frontier Mustangs

Coyle is 0-7 against Frontier since December of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Bluejackets will square off against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Coyle not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 16th (when they won 68-39). They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 78-50 victory over Carney.

Meanwhile, Frontier came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 79-63 win over the Tigers. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Tigers are ranked 337th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Coyle's record now sits at 10-13. As for Frontier, their record is now 16-8.

Coyle was dealt a bruising 72-29 loss at the hands of Frontier when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can the Bluejackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
