Softball Recap: Paxton Takes a Loss

If Paxton was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Ponce De Leon last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats lost 11-4 to the Cottondale Hornets on Tuesday. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 7-4.

Emily Ward made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Delia Pennington, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Paxton's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Cottondale, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Looking ahead, Paxton will head out to challenge Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Cottondale, they will welcome Bethlehem at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
