Soccer Game Preview: Carlinville vs. Hillsboro

The Carlinville Cavaliers will take on the Hillsboro Hiltoppers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Carlinville's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Carlinville gave up the first goal on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Greenville. That's two games straight that Carlinville have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro fell victim to Litchfield and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Purple Panthers. Hillsboro haven't had much luck with Litchfield recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Carlinville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Hillsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
