Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Patuxent). They put the hurt on St. Charles with a sharp  13-1 win on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Hannah Bruno was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Nia Mason was  excellent,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Those  two  RBI gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jasmine Somerville, who  got on base  in two of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
Patuxent is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for St. Charles,  they are  on  an  eight-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-11.
 Looking ahead, Patuxent will be playing in front of their home fans against Lackey  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for St. Charles, they will face off against North Point at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. St. Charles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.7  runs per game this season.
