Softball Recap: Au Gres-Sims Find Success

Au Gres-Sims never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hale on Monday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 15-11. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Isabella Freehling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered ten runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Kayden Skacal was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those runs were her first of the season. Adelaide Bauer was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Au Gres-Sims' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Hale, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Au Gres-Sims will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Alcona at 4:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Hale, they will face off against Forest Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
