Baseball Recap: Wickenburg Christian Academy's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Wickenburg Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Trinity Christian Warriors 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Lion, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Evan Gustin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Gustin was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aziel Flores, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Xavier Moralez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Wickenburg Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Christian only managed five hits.

Wickenburg Christian Academy pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Trinity Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Wickenburg Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Family Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Family Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Trinity Christian, they will take on Thunderbird Adventist Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
