Football Recap: Lake Ridge Starts Season with Victory Against Reedy

Lake Ridge had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They snuck past the Reedy Lions with a 31-27 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Lions are ranked 119th).

Lake Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaiden Cotton, who rushed for 155 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Jayden Evans also helped out with an impressive 97 receiving yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Ridge will take on Haltom at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Reedy, they will challenge Emerson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
