Volleyball Recap: Eisenhower Gets the Win

Eisenhower took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Erie First Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against Erie First Christian Academy on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2.

Eisenhower wouldn't go down easily and took Erie First Christian Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17, 15-11.

Paisley Lawson paced Eisenhower's offense, picking up 18 kills. Lawson got some help from Lexi Pascuzzi and her 21 assists. Finally, Riley Robinault and Alanna Byrd kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked four attacks.

Erie First Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shaye Maya, who had ten digs.

Eisenhower is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Erie First Christian Academy fell to 7-1.

Eisenhower wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Cambridge Springs on the 23rd. As for Erie First Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Slippery Rock on the 20th.
