In this week's postseason power rankings action, one team rose to the occasion while another fell hard. Among the action were the efforts of Southern Nash's senior Zonovan "bam" Knight, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.

Eastern Alamance has been an offensive powerhouse for three straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It picked up a decisive 'W' against South Johnston, finishing up at 49 - 7. One star in particular for Eastern Alamance was junior Austin Bryant, who threw for 438 yards and five touchdowns. Thanks to its success, Eastern Alamance cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 23rd spot.
Can't Touch This
Southern Nash's 63 - 0 win over C.B. Aycock last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Zonovan "bam" Knight. "bam" Knight earned six touchdowns and 353 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out "bam" Knight as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The clash of the power ranking titans last week was between Cape Fear (63rd in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Southeast Guilford (23rd). Cape Fear lost to Southeast Guilford 21 - 8. Cape Fear wasn't expected to pull off the win given its disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, but that is little consolation.
Look Out Below
Lee County gave both Dudley and its quarterback (sacked four times) a rough time last week. Lee County was close but not close enough as it fell 29 - 26 to Dudley. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Lee County after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close. Matters were only made worse for it when it came to the power rankings: the team dropped 11 places, the most of any team in the rankings.
