The Coolidge Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Apache Junction Prospectors at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Coolidge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Coolidge and Santa Cruz Valley, and Santa Cruz Valley kept the tradition alive. Coolidge fell just short of Santa Cruz Valley by a score of 8-7 on Friday.

Kassidy Mitchell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Hunt, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Apache Junction's offense. They came up short against Poston Butte on Monday, falling 21-0. The Prospectors' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Apache Junction's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Coolidge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Coolidge suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Apache Junction when the teams last played back in March of 2016. Can Coolidge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
