Football Recap: Neosho Takes a Loss

Neosho dropped to 5-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of the Republic Tigers. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Neosho had strong showings from Keisean Rhone, who rushed for 82 yards and one score on only ten carries, and Blayne Patterson, who rushed for 58 yards and one touchdown. Rhone's longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

As for Republic, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Preston McCracken produced another solid performance rushing for 147 yards and one TD on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Izaiah Hull was in the mix as well, providing Republic with two scores.

Neosho has already played their next matchup, a 56-14 loss against Carthage on the 23rd. As for Republic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 59-7 win against Willard on the 23rd.
