Mena waltzed into their match on Monday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They put the hurt on the Dardanelle Sand Lizards with a sharp 10-3 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bearcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.
Addison Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Laynie Powell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
Mena pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
