Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grosse Pointe South). They came out on top against the Riverview Pirates by a score of 56-43 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kate Patterson, who went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Patterson has posted since back in February of 2024. Averi Westbay was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Grosse Pointe South's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Riverview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Grosse Pointe South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Dakota on the 22nd. Riverview has also already played their next game, a 65-45 loss against Chelsea on the 21st.
