Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Eagles vs. Breese Central Cougars

Columbia is 1-9 against Breese Central since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Columbia Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Breese Central Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Columbia comes in on four and Breese Central on ten.

Columbia picked up another tournament win on Wednesday. They blew past Wesclin 62-39. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Brody Landgraf was his usual excellent self, putting up 16 points. Sam Donald was another key player, posting 14 points.

Meanwhile, Breese Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-36 victory over Nashville on Wednesday.

Columbia's win bumped their record up to 26-6. As for Breese Central, they pushed their record up to 26-5 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

Columbia came up short against Breese Central in their previous matchup on February 11th, falling 62-53. Can Columbia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
