It was a good run, but Wheeler unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Illiana Christian Vikings. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Vikings when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Wheeler was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-22.

Izabela Schumacher paced Wheeler's offense, picking up 12 kills. Schumacher got some help from Julia Newsome and her 11 assists. Lilly Boner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Wheeler's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 17-9. As for Illiana Christian, their record is now 21-5.

Wheeler has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Hanover Central on the 1st. As for Illiana Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against South Newton on the 30th.
