Game recap

Priest River (Idaho) beat Bonners Ferry (Idaho) 45-7 on the strength of a superb game by dual threat quarterback Cameron Riley, who threw two touchdown passes while running for three more.

The Spartans were up 22-7 at the half after taking the lead on a Riley touchdown pass to Tyler Barber in the first quarter.

Priest River expanded its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. PR scored five times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Riley to Barber.

The Spartans put up 23 points in the third quarter en route to the win. Priest River scored on a Riley touchdown pass to Barber, a touchdown run by Riley and a Riley touchdown run in the quarter.

The Badgers' lone touchdown came on a 10-yard pass in the second quarter.

PR had struggled this season, allowing 33.7 points per game.

The victory will ease some of the sting of the Spartans' close 34-32 loss to Bonners Ferry last season.

With the win Priest River extended its winning streak to three games.

In a 3A Intermountain game next week Bonners Ferry (0-7) takes on Kellogg, and Priest River (5-2) will go up against Timberlake also in a 3A Intermountain game.
