Football Game Preview: Jeannette Jayhawks vs. Springdale Dynamos

Jeannette is 9-1 against Springdale since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Jayhawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Dynamos at 7:00 p.m. Jeannette will be strutting in after a victory while Springdale will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jeannette beat Brentwood 23-18. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jayhawks.

It was another big night for Kymone Brown, who rushed for 124 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also threw for 153 yards and one TD. His passing game has become a key predictor of Jeannette's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. A healthy portion of Brown's aerial production (99 yards to be exact) went to Jayce Powell.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Powell, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Springdale played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Greensburg Central Catholic and fell 52-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Dynamos in their meetings with the Centurions: they've now lost five in a row.

Springdale's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Jeannette, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Jeannette against Springdale in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jayhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
