Basketball Recap: Parkwood Wolf Pack vs. Piedmont Panthers
Parkwood lost against Piedmont back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wolf Pack lost to the Panthers on the road by a 78-59 margin. The loss put an end to the Wolf Pack's undefeated start to the season.
Despite the loss, Parkwood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nehemiah Davis shot 42% from the field to rack up 29 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 49.2% of the Wolf Pack's points, marking the third time in a row Davis has posted more than a third of the team's points. Micah Davis was another key player, putting up eight points.
Piedmont had a senior duo take command as Bennett Church shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten assists and Bryan Little dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Church has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Staton, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 11 points and six rebounds.
Having lost for the first time this season, Parkwood fell to 2-1. As for Piedmont, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkwood will welcome Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 3. As for Piedmont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Union Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
