Basketball Preview: Menno Wolves vs. Bon Homme Cavaliers
The Menno Wolves will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Bon Homme Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Menno will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 38th).
While Menno couldn't quite beat the Eagles on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 30-point loss they were dealt on Tuesday. Menno fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 41-38. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Menno in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though Bon Homme has not done well against the Flyers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Bon Homme managed a 52-48 win over the Flyers.
Menno dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bon Homme, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Menno came up short against the Cavaliers when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 50-37. Can Menno avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
