If Proctor was feeling good fresh off their 75-52 takedown of Hermantown last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Proctor Rails fell to the Marshall Hilltoppers 69-65. The Rails' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Marshall found their leader in freshman Chloe Johnson, who shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Marshall's points. Cairin Berger was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points and six boards.

Proctor's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 18-2. As for Marshall, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Proctor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 97-37 win against Grand Rapids on the 23rd. Marshall has also already played their next contest, an 81-74 victory against Kelliher/Northome on the 25th.
