Recap: Skyline Raiders vs. DeSoto Eagles
The Skyline Raiders lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by DeSoto at home and fell 73-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Skyline has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Skyline had strong showings from Naiya Carney, who scored 12 points, and Khalaizah Martin, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Martin has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.
Skyline has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season. As for DeSoto, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-5.
Skyline will head out on the road to take on Mansfield Legacy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Legacy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Skyline is ranked 120th). As for DeSoto, they will be playing at home against Waxahachie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
