Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Ridge Spring-Monetta

Ridge Spring-Monetta entered their tilt with Williston-Elko on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 7-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-4 back in March.

Adalynn Holsomback spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trinity Burdett, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Whitfield, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Ridge Spring-Monetta hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

Ridge Spring-Monetta's record now sits at 14-5. As for Williston-Elko, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Ridge Spring-Monetta will take on Barnwell at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Williston-Elko, they will face off against Edisto at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
