            Softball Recap: Fairfield Lions vs. Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Blue Jays        
        
		
        
        
            Fairfield had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington on Tuesday. The Lions put the hurt on the Blue Jays with a sharp  13-3 victory. The  win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Blue Jays: they've now won eight in a row.
 Rilee Quickle made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news, Fairfield got a  massive  performance out of  Carly Sanders, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.  Kelsie Crowder was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.

 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will face off against Miami Trace at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington, they will challenge Manchester at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
