Baseball Recap: Wiley Panthers vs. Eads Eagles
Wiley had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-9-1 to make it eight. They lost 13-0 to the Eads Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Tuesday.
As for Eads, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.5 runs this season.
For Eads' part, Weston Mitchek was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Mitchek has posted since back in March of 2024. Case Nelson was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Wiley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-7 victory against Springfield on the 11th. As for Eads, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-0 win against Harrison on the 12th.
