Soccer Game Preview: Monte Vista vs. Helix

Monte Vista is 0-9-1 against Helix since January of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Monte Vista Monarchs will head out to face off against the Helix Highlanders at 7:00 p.m.

Monte Vista is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals last Friday, they were much more limited against Grossmont on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Foothillers.

Meanwhile, Helix waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Matadors onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. The Highlanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Helix has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five matchups. As for Monte Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2.

Monte Vista suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Helix in their previous meeting back in January. Can Monte Vista avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
