Baseball Game Preview: DeSoto Dragons vs. Marquand-Zion Tigers

The DeSoto Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Marquand-Zion Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (DeSoto 3.9, Marquand-Zion 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

DeSoto will bounce into Monday's game after beating Festus, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Dragons came out on top against the Tigers on Friday by a score of 1-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Marquand-Zion's offense. They fell just short of West County by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. It was the first time this season that the Tigers let down their fans at home.

DeSoto's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-14. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marquand-Zion, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.
