Baseball Game Preview: Leo Lions vs. Marmion Cadets

For the second straight game, Leo will face off against Marmion. The Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Cadets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leo has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Leo came up short against Marmion on Monday, falling 15-4. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Cadets: they've now lost five in a row.

For Marmion's part, Jack Hughes and Ben Gudenrath dominated on the mound. Hughes tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Gudenrath pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Matthew Tulley was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Schweiner, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Marmion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The last time their OBP was this high was April 1st.

Marmion has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Leo, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
