Recap: Charlotte Christian Knights vs. Eau Claire Shamrocks
The Charlotte Christian Knights have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Eau Claire on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Charlotte Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 364th in North Carolina, while Eau Claire is ranked 177th in South Carolina).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Charlotte Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Guandolo, who scored 20 points along with five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Guandolo has scored at least 25% of Charlotte Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Marshall Nicholson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Charlotte Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Eau Claire, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlotte Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Westminster Catawba Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. As for Eau Claire, they will take on Dreher at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dreher focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday.
