Basketball Recap: Enid Plainsmen vs. Sapulpa Chieftains

Enid lost against Sapulpa back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Enid Plainsmen took a 62-43 bruising from the Sapulpa Chieftains.

Sapulpa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riki Mcquarters, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 22 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Mcquarters is becoming a predictor of Sapulpa's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 4-10 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Wrigley Adkisson, who went 8-for-14 en route to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Enid's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Sapulpa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enid will take on Edmond North at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sapulpa, they will face off against Jenks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
