Volleyball Recap: South Charleston Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Charleston entered their tilt with Ripley on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Vikings. The game was the first time the Black Eagles have beaten the Vikings on their court since October 29, 2016.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-16.

South Charleston's offense was headlined by Payton Baskin and Riley Southern, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Brianna Anderson and her six assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

South Charleston now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Ripley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coincidentally, South Charleston and Ripley will both be playing Chapmanville Regional the next time they take the court. The Black Eagles will head out to face the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
