Baseball Recap: Francis Parker Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Francis Parker nor Maranatha Christian made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Lancers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3. Surprisingly, this marked the Lancers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Francis Parker saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Nathan Venz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Francis Parker has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-1 record this season. As for Maranatha Christian, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-17.
